Lesley Sterling

Lesley Sterling is the General Manager of Northwest Community Futures Development Corporation, where she provides loans, advice and support for entrepreneurs and participates in community economic development initiatives, like the Downtown BID. Born and raised in rural Manitoba, Lesley attended university in Winnipeg and Calgary before moving to Saskatchewan, where she lived in Air Ronge and Kipling before moving to the Battlefords. Lesley brings optimism, fresh ideas and a vision for growth to her role in the community and is committed to seeing the Battlefords flourish. In addition to the BID, she is active with Community Futures Saskatchewan, Battlefords Chamber of Commerce, 100 Women Who Care, Eagle Hills Multiple 4-H Club and several RCMP spouses’ groups.

Lesley and her husband, Dan, are parents to Kate, John, Sarah and Andrew and keep busy driving their four kids to school, sports and recreation activities. “When I first came to North Battleford for an interview in November 2016, I was surprised how beautiful it was. It was much bigger and economically developed than what I was expecting, and after living here for over a year, I hope we can stay long term and raise our family here. The generosity and friendliness of the community has been amazing, and there are so many facilities, recreation opportunities and new businesses opening that I only see positive changes happening.”
